looks like a new tank?

looks like it is going to shed as well…

the trunks on mine always seem to have that look to them from time to time...

there is a good chance it needs more direct flow then what it is getting…though mp10s are great, how big is the tank? and what settings are you using?

i have a WP10 in my tank so not quite as nice as the mp10, but it still moves a tonne of water, my tank is only 5g though, i have mine set on a wave setting with flow on the lowest setting and the pulses set as far part as they can go, looks like about 10sec or so between pulses…i can still see areas in my tank where the water doesn't seem to be moving all that much. (poop is settling there) but all my leathers get pretty much blasted with flow…and light for that matter…leds as well.

Great info

tank is 40 breeder with 20gal sump

use red sea test kits, as well Hanna checkers

alk is at 3.0/8.4 now

just use brs 2 part dosing alk, cal and mg

about 10-15g every 2 weeks

thanks

I would check that it's getting enough flow, but with 2 mp10's in a 40, I'd imagine that it is. I have one that gets a direct stream from a rotating nozzle but the other 2 get much more gentle flow.

When did you add to the tank? Leathers can be fickle... my large tyree toadstool took about a month to fully acclimate with full polyp extension. So if you only recently added it, give it time. The more you move it around and mess with it, the longer it'll take to adjust. It could also be shedding.

It did shed when I first got it but it has always look that way very small polys no extentions to them
Side note it looked awesome in the person I bought it from

update, took him out and cleaned off all the algae on him did find a worm at the base and it's black were the worm was, should I cut it off the rock

when I put him back it's hunched over

polys were out a very little

quit playing with it…unless it is an enuice worm there is no reason to worry about it..

mind you black is generally dying tissue in leathers…

on a side note i had a devils hand leather in my tank(still have) that didn't put its polyps out at all for a year… i is perfectly fine though.

it just didn't like its new tank mate…chalice..

have you any LPS in the tank…do you run carbon…there is a good chance there is some chemical warfare going on in there...

i would try carbon again…i am now willing to bet the LPS and leather are not playing nice behind the scenes…

with in a week of getting rid of my chalice the leather opened up again…i do still have frogspwan and duncans….but i also run carbon 24/7…come to think of it i haven't changed it in about 6 months…i likely should get on that..

also biopellets are going to strip the water of the "dirties" that soft corals like..(nitrates and phosphates)

Thanks put my carbon back on line turned bio-pellet pellets down.

Have notice I am starting to get alge growth? Possible from my bio-pellet?
