Leather Toadstool

I have had this leather for a couple weeks now and lately he has been shriveling up during the day and the fully expanding at night. He will start coming out a couple hours before the lights turn off and then shrink back down a couple hours before the lights go on. I have replaced my bulbs (250MH) and figured that was most of the problem, but he started doing this a little before the bulb change. Other than him being on a reverse cycle he seems very healthy. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before?

Yeah it happens, it sometimes means he is sloughing but seeing as you'e had hom for only a couple of weeks, the leather is still acclimating to your tank's waters. When you have it longer you'll come to realize that they can look like poo (Shriveled up) for weeks (even months!) on end.

Eventually your leather will be on the right cycle, but for now it's just dealing with the new conditions. Considering where it came from, and then where it was help before it was put into your tank... it's been through a lot and unfortunately leathers usually take longer to acclimate, but the good news is that they are often successful at it and don't usually die because of it.

Yeah, I knew they can stay shriveled for a while when they are ââ"šÂ¬Ã…"œshedding,ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ I just thought it was a little unusual that he would be on a complete reverse cycle.
