never asked how you liked the rkl? im thinking about getting one just for the ATO function, since I can upgrade later rather than spending $$$ on a Tunze or JBJ and what not.

Oh wow, your right about that!
MUCH rather have the RKL, remember that the floats that can fail are the same on the RKL as the JBJ, etc.
but with the RKL you can also use the temp sensor so you can shut down the heater with an alarm if it fails.

I do that well. I love it, I walk in the house and I see that the light is on and my tank is nice and warm at the right temp.
Earlier today when halides were on I saw the fan keeping the temp below 79.5 where as pre fan I kicked up to 80.5 the other day. pretty cool to have that much control.
