Are most LED units advertised at a different wattage than they run? Like 165w panel running at 120w due to lower current driving each led at closer to 2.2w?
Some are, some aren't. The power supply/driver/transformer will give the fixture a certain amount of current and not all of that is meant to run the LEDs. Some of that current is used to run timers fans and other small electrical components. So Some companies have calculated the total highest wattage their LEDs use and some just go by what the power supply says.
