Ok,

We have all heard the stories. I figured it was time to get some kind of estimate for future buyers as to what exactly to expect from the Rio pumps. So, please join me in listing the number of Rio pumps you have had fail vs. other brands. It is time to prove or disprove all the talk.

Me: Rio = 4, other brands = 0

Thank you and I am sure future buyers will thank you.

Tye

ps- I had one shut off last night and so did kennerd that is what prompted this.

whaddya moaning about? they're disposable! :p

i've got 4-800's, 1-600, 1-90, 1-2100 (that's a backup, doesn't really count).

i still like them though. i don't why. love is blind, stupid, and gullible.

Maxi jets all the way:thumbsup: I have four MJ on a wave maker running on high, never a problem

It might just be me but i am starting to see a patern.

Anyone out there is the LFS or retail world have any clue why so many companies use them.

Put another way: Why supply your product with a pump (a very important piece) that is known to break? Reputation is important so i guess the money must be good

Rio's owened=1
Crapped =1
ruined 30 gallons of just cooked water I was getting ready for a W.C., guess I better hurry and get rid of my Capp too.......

Rios-0/1 runs forever
MaxiJet 600-2/2 seize every 5 weeks.

No pump in the world has a zero failure rate.

Rios: 2 for 2
Others: 0

I just replaced my Rio 2100 return pump with a Mag 9.5. Now my other one on my Turboflotor is going. Both are only 5 mos old. TOTAL CRAP ! Why will they never restart after shutting them off ?
