These two pictures aren't from my tank but they have gorgonians in them. I took these photos while diving in Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras this past May.

Gorgonian with Seahorse:

Gorgonian with Flamingo Toungue. If you look closely you can see where the Falmingo had eaten the flesh of the gorgonian leaving a trail of exposed skeleton behind.

Nice pics, ever frag your gorgonians? I'm going to give it a few months but then I'm going to cut a few branches, any pointers?

Yes I do frag my gorgonians. I sell them to local fish stores in my area. I just cut off the arms and wedge the arms into a small hole in a small piece of live rock. Then I put the frag in an area of high flow in my frag tank and the gorgonian encrusts over the rock in about 1 week.

see if this works, i can't get clear pics.... probably because the glass bows :( ....

i've had great success. i have two different kinds.. the one pictured above and an 'ultra purple gorg' from the gulf of mexico. i feed them every other day and they've been growing well for almost a year!

i want to play too...

the blue died when i moved it into a cave to get it out of the light. there wasn't enough current in the cave. i'll get another one someday, but only after i have a spot already set up for it. they yellows still doing good. i've also got a yellow finger gorg (yellow w/ white polyps).

I alternate every other day between: frozen brine soaked in selcon, DT's Phyto, Zooplankton & formula 1 flakes pureed with selcon.

Works like a charm :)

they are in high flow areas, and dont get much light.

also, i've fragged them several times with 100% survival!!!

every once in a while some algae starts growing on them. i just use my hand to rub it off, or use a soft tooth brush.
