LF glass haze polishing compound

Hi all, read online that you can use cerium oxide to polish glass. A used tank has some haze I want to polish out before building my display refugium/sump.

Anyone know where I can get some cerium oxide?

Thanks for your info. I thought once the glass has scratches there is no way to remove them. I will buy it to remove scratches for my 72 gal tank.

i used a product called sunny bright the one for glass not porcelin it took off the old dry scum but did not remove scratches good luck

Cerium oxide is a fine powder that has same hardness as glass. So you can use it to "polish/buff" out the glass surface. Of course, you'll probably also remove some glass material in the process, but as long as the etched glass is not deep scratches, it should work fine.

Read it works on glass, not sure how it'd work on an acrylic tank.

I was hoping a fellow reefer had some I can use instead of paying $30 for 1 lb, which is probably overkill for me.
