Just FYI to anyone interested in the Bay Area...

As of yesterday 4/10/03 Tropical Paradise in San Leandro had a really cool, small (3.5") O. Scyllarus and a larger green smasher that I couldn't identify. It had very long upper appendages with shorter in proportion smashers. Prices weren't listed.

And Aquarium Concepts in Hayward had a larger 4-5" O. Scyllarus. Price not listed.

I need more tanks...!

sweet

my 60 gallon with 6 sections is almost ready

some for mantis shrimp , some for inverts, and some for mantis snacks...

looks like i need to hit those shops up

The peacock at AC isn't for sale i think, one of the employees owns it. It was really cool though, tried to strike my finger when I put it in front of her, made a nice dent in the plastic container. I got the Tropical Paradise one on hold for... me. Yah!

The O. Scyllarus or peacock was pretty vibrantly colored and predominately olive so as best as I could tell it was female. It was one of the smaller O.S.s that I've seen at about 3" and it was active and responsive.

I don't know what species the larger green smasher was at T.P. but it was completely olive green, about 5", and had long upper arms and short curved smashers.

Both O. Scyllarus at T.P. and Aquarium Concepts had some white areas on their telsons that I'm assuming is shell disease which is more common to O.S. per a Dr. Roy post here.
