light requirements?

I know I should already know this but is there a formula for determinig how much wattage you need from lights.
I have a 125gal. 6'X22" deep i have 3 175 MH and 2 sets of 65 w Actincs PC right know just wondering if this is enough light ? I want to buy a new set of PC .?

sorry i forgot to say what i hav in the tank. right know some mushrooms and ricordia . polyps. but i want to start putting some sps and clams. any help?

Could use the new Iwasaki aqua 2 bulbs and increase the PAR and keep the 175's. If not then I think that you are ok if you keep the SPS and Clams up high but if you want to keep them low then might want to switch to 250's. HTH

You should be fine, however, you did not mention what type of mh bulbs you will be using. dwdenny's advice was spot on.
