lighting decisions

I'm getting my research on a 120 reef with sump/fuge. My biggest decision is LIGHTING.

I estimate the tank at 72", probably MH/HQI 2x250 with PC actinic and moonlights, hoodless (or maybe a hood)

I would really appreciate some recommendations. I'm confused and I don't see many 72" fixtures out there.

All opinions welcome and considered. Thanks.

You may want to consider 3X 250W MH for a 6' tank. Your lighting decision should be based on weather you have a hood, or use pendants.

Here's mine: It's an AGA hood w/ 3X 250w MH + 2X 6' VHO actinics.

Thanks FF. Of all the decisions you have to make, lighting seems to be the most expesive and the most confusing. 10K, 14K, blue, HQI, MH, yada, yada, yada.

I like your set up. Thanks for the advice and the pic

Your welcome. Lighting is the single most expensive part of this hobby. I purchased mine incrementally over the course of a year. Thanks for the compliments too.
