Lighting/derasa or squamosa question

beetlejuice,

Your only hope with that lighting might be to put one way up on the rock work. I have a 250mh on my 29gal (18"deep) for my squamosa.

Sorry to hitchike but.....

Is there a posibility to keep a clam under 192 watts of pc in a 46 gallon bowfront?

While I'm not an expert, I did alot of research before selecting the light for my 29gal (18") reef. Everyone I talked to (including lots of RC memebers) told me if you want to do clams and have them thrive, use mh lighting. I'm sure you can get away with lots of pc if you are getting babies clams and putting them on the rockwork, but, I would say a proper set-up for any type of clam is mh lighting (just like many of us would not use pc for sps).

I have a 4" squamosa under 110 watts of pc. He's in a 29gal with a 4" sand bed, Has grown almost an inch in 6 months. Squamosas are fine with less light. Derasas although lesser light needing clams need more light to thrive than squamosas.
