Lighting emergency question?

My MH balast blew up over the weekend due to a flood from a snail in the plumbing. I have 2 crocea clams , and will only have 2 (new) 65 watt daylight pc lights over them in my 30 gallon long, for 9 days total until my new ballast comes in. Would the clams be better off living with the poor lighting for this length of time, or being moved to the display at my LFS? I know the LFS display tank is in excellent condition, but am worried about moving them there and then back again.

IMO they will be fine (it takes awhile for a clam to starve)...be sure to acclimate them when you get your MH back on. And move them up in the tank for the 9 days.

I would be more worried about putting my clams back in a LFS where they could pick up PM or Pyramid snails and have to be QT'd again...but if you trust them then do what your feel is best.

Cheers,
