lighting for acros

I have heard that acros and other sps can't be kept under compact flourescent lighting. My tank has about ten watts per gallon of compact flourescent lighting. Can I keep acros or any sps under this type and amount of lighting.

Most likely. People who tell you that you can't keep SPS under PCs are wrong. Its not the easiest thing to do, but it is possible.


That being said, half the people running barebottom and T5/MH are bleaching the crap out of their corals. Maybe less light IS the answer.

I agree, I think the 10 watts a gallon must be a conspiracy by the power companies. I have a 28 gallon with 130watt PC and I have a SPS that I placed close to the top and it is doing great.
