Lighting vs. Height

Looking to get a Maxima and a Crocea soon and was wondering how high I should place the Crocea (would prefer the sandbed but I know these need a lot of light). I have a good size DSB so the distance from the water surface to the sandbed is only 21". See below for Aquarium stat's.

I figure the Maxima shouldn't have a problem on the sandbed. For those with Crocea's, how many of you place them on the sand, what's the depth of your sandbed, and what do you have for lighting?

Thanks.

Your lighting isn't too bad...

You could keep both happy on the sandbed, however I always like to keep my clams on the rockwork, it looks more natural, and in the wild they are bored in rockwork.

I'd add the crocea a little higher just incase..

Good luck and post some pics of the tank with the new clams you'll be getting!

Here are a few very good places to buy clams...

clamsdirect.com
aquadesignz.com *very cheap prices, and rare pieces
Justphish.com
thelogicalreef.com
spsfrags.com

Reefermadness.us has some very nice specimens, however I'd read so many deaths to the clams once arrived... So I'd stay away from them, they are wild caught, so figures..

I think your clam will be fine on the sandbed. I keep my 3" Maxima on the sandbed, 24" below the light under 2 250w MH's.

If not, you can always move the clam upwards onto the rocks. Just be careful where you place them so they don't fall off.
