Lighting?

I have a 55gal and wanted to know the best light setup? I like alot of corals but mostly the ones that need high light.

Also has anyone have any DIY plans on a 55gal canopy?

this is a very broad question that could return just about any answer. you need to know what what you intend to keep to determine lighting
there are tons of plans for cabinets/canopy and lighting in the DIY forum...

The key question would be the depth of your tank. In any event, if you are inclined toward "high light-demanding" coral, then I would recommend that you just get yourself metal halide lighting. The depth of your rank would determine which wattage bulbs you'll need. Metal halides will work on any kind of coral. you could also look into T5 lighting, but, even still, metal halide is a sure thing. The length of your tank would be relevant to how many metal halide bulbs you'd do best with.
