Looks like one to me. But my frame of reference is Andrew Zimmern on Bizaar Foods on the Food Network. I saw him picking them and eating them off of some rocks in Hawai'i. I wouldn't worry about it unless it bulldozes stuff over. In which case you could take it off the rocks and pop it in your mouth. Andrew said they taste a bit briney.
LImpet is a common name used for snails with a conical shell. They're are many species. Some are herbivorous. like the keyhole limpet. Thyca crstallina preys on linka starfish ; some eat sponge.
