LIRA's October 2017 Meeting, 10/6/2017

Hi Everyone,
The Long Island Reef Association's (LIRA) monthly meetings resumes on Friday, October 6th, 2017 at the Acan Lighting office.

Speaker: Adam Blundell
Topic: Unusual Fish that Hobbyists Should Consider

October's Raffle: The club will be having a raffle for a Coralife Aqualight S LED 18"-24"Light.
1st member ticket will be $2. Additional tickets are $5 each.

Adam Blundell is our MASNA Speaks guest speaker for this meeting.

Adam is the Scientific Director for the Aquatic & Terrestrial Research Team, Science Chair for the Davis School District, and Professor at the University of Utah. He has over 25 years of experience in the marine aquarium hobby. He has authored dozens of articles on aquarium husbandry, and coral reef ecology. Adam spends most of his time teaching students, working in the lab, and testing new ideas for captive systems.

& I brought back some goodies from MACNA.
 
Hoping to get to this one. Have to see how my wife feels with a toddler and 3 week old at home. lol Hope to see everyone there.

what kind of fish?

The Micro Gobies (Trimma spp. Eviota spp)

I can't seem to find anything about them on the internet.. at least not the red and yellow ones Adam showed. I found other varieties. it'd be perfect for my pico tank at work!
