Little Giant heating up!

I have acquired through a friend a little giant 3E-12N submersible/non submersible pump. Either way you run the thing it heats up water above 90 deg. Even used external heats water significantly. Opened up , checked, armature 1/2 submersed in oil. The pump is old, but new out of the box. Change oil??? Any help

i would get a new pump....but that's just me!!

I don't use it, just thinking it may come in handy later.
