hello,a couple months ago at the lfs i was picking out my live rock for my reeftank and seen a rock move and after watching it for a few minutes it opened back up and it was a clam so i bought it at live rock price, this clam looks like a piece of live rock it is completely covered with coraline you cannot tell the differance if it is closed, has anyone had this experiance also? i wish i could add a picture,so all i can say is it is a clam that looks like a figi live rock it is about 1/4 a pound and 4 inches in length,i know im not giving you much to go on without a pic any suggestions will help.and also what the heck can i feed it,i dont want it to die.thanks in advance.

There are alot of clams and mussels that come in on live rock. Usually they are nothing special. Great find though, it's probably a great filter feeder.

is it a Tridacnid or Hipopus (Sorry spelled that wrong) clam? If so, thats a GREAT fine. If its not, its not uncommon at all. Ive discovered about 4 mollucks on my rock so far.
