live rock life

when do u start to see things on the live rock?
does it take a couple of months.

After I put my worm culture rock in my tank I started seeing feather dusters right away and found some interesting polyps that came along with the rock and one crab was their but took him out and their were a few starfish that seemed to only stay in the rock cause they really small but the rock I purchased was nice rock, payed $9.50 lb, great looking rock, plenty of life, purple, brown, & orange look to it very pleased with purchase from the LFS

It varies on lot depending on the quality of the live rock, etc.
