Live rock suggestions

I am in the process of setting up my first nano tank for my office. I only have experience with larger tanks, so I need some help. I have already ordered a JBJ 6 gallon system. That is simply all that I have room for. I already have the sand and the corals I am going to use are already growing in my main display at the house. Xenia elongota, orange cap, brown cap, star polyps, and several varieties of zos. I however, have no idea where to get good rock. I am considering the nano pack from either fosters and smith or marinedepot live. Has anyone ever ordered from these two? Quality, size, etc.. If any of you have any "better" alternate suppliers please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I'd ordered the Fiji Premium Live Rock, 11 lbs per box from marine depot and was not happy with it. The rocks came in very dry and no newspaper wrapped and the only live part was a couple of tiny black bugs that came out of the box. I can't imagine them packing it at their facility because it came in nextday sevice and the rocks were all dried up. I was say the rocks are very light and lots of holes for the critters to hide or swim through.

For 6g system you're probably not going to put a lot of rocks in (9-12lbs) you may be better off getting it from your lfs.

Drs. Foster & Smith Select Fiji Premium Live Rock for $79.99 seem reasonable.

I got a 25g pkg fro TBS and I'm very happy with but they are much more dense.

Thanks for the info! The problem is that I live about 2 hours from a good fish store. I am currently leaning toward f & s. I know someone that ordered LR from them and they love their stuff. I just was wondering about the nano pack. Thanks again. Anyone ever keep fish in a 6 gallon? If so any suggestions? Right now I am thinking about a perc.

Just trying to get some more info. Has anyone ordered live rock for foster and smith before? If so how was the quality?

Personally I would try foster and smith but the smallest box I think is 22lbs which will be way too much for you given their lighter density. I got 65lbs in my 24g which is about 1 piece (8-10lbs) too many and I'd to put it in the 3g (hitchhiker mantis I caught) tank.

my father-in-law ordered some "premium" fiji from foster & smith. i was not impressed. honestly i've seen dry base rock that was more impressive. now, if you can get the nano sized lot in something other then fiji you might be okay.

when i set up my nano i got my LR from PremiumAquatics. nice thing about PA is they let you order by the pound, so you can get exactly the amount of LR you want. great quality rock ( the nano rock is nice, the marshall island rock is freaking sweet. ), great customer service, and as i said they let you order by the pound.

HTH

Thanks, phenom5! I have ordered several times from premium aquatics, but I forgot they sold LR. I will check it out!
