Live Sand at Petsmart??

My memory could be failing me, but last time I was in the Loveland petsmart, I swear they were selling live sand, and it was pretty cheap. None of the Denver ones that I've been to stock it. Just curious about others' experiences--do your local petsmarts stock live sand?

It's been sitting in a bag on the shelf for a while. I guess it would have a lot of anaerobic bacteria and no aerobic bacteria and possibly might get you started quicker but in the end I don't think it matters. Unless you can't find quality sand for a decent price.

Maybe it still has bacteria in it. But, bacteria has to eat. What has it been eating for all of those months that it's been sealed in a plastic bag? Maybe it starts your aquarium off more quickly by providing a source of ammonia from all that dead bacteria.

Haw much sand do you want i have about 80lbs of live sand in my fuge it may help you get a start. LMK

Way too many people around willing to give you a scoop of sand out of their tanks to be paying for prepackaged live sand.

It was a more a comment about Petsmart's irregular stocking habits, but I do thank you all for the offers.
