Locating DOS far away from Apex controller

Hello All,

I have an Apex that is located in the house (close to the Display tank), and I am thinking about purchasing a DOS for a continuous water change system. I was thinking about putting the DOS out in the garage where my NSW is located. That way if something goes wrong, hopefully the water spill be in the garage instead of in my house.

I was wondering if I can run a 50ft to 75 ft USB type cable from the Apex (located in the house) to the DOS (located in the garage)? Will this work?

You can get long 50' or longer AquaBus cables here:

No you cant get just standard USB cables as when it comes to that length they have repeaters on them and will get damaged/fried if plugged into an AquaBus port.
