Long stringy thing coming out of Siphon

I got a 2 inch maxima yesterday and after acclimating it I decided to put 1 cap of phyto into the water. Today when I just got home a min ago I saw a long stringy thing coming out of the siphon. The clam looks fine and is very responsive. Anyone know whats up? It's under a 150 watt DE HQI with 20k bulb. I have a crocea on the sandbed thats been doing fine for a couple months. The Maxima is in the middle of the tank and I think it may have already attached to a piece of rock I put it on. The tank is a 42 gallon hex.

phew, thanks. I've been infront of my tank looking at the clam till now. Thanks, for a few hours I thought I was heading to bed with clam on my mind which would not let me sleep.
