Longshot - anyone know where I can get a run capacitor on a Saturday?

Start calling the appliance parts company's in the area. Those things aren't cheap, but their pretty easy to find.
Be very careful with those things, they can pack a punch.

Thanks guys. I've done hvac service for almost 30 yrs. Took an in house gig and slowly lost all my wholesale connections. Frustrating be able to fix it but not being able to get the $7 part I need. Tank is ok tho, maintaining 81 degrees.

Mine downstairs went out last week and I should have changed them both as upstairs started having problems yesterday. My AC guy said he has been changing them everywhere! If the thing looks puffed out and ready to blow the lid that is probably your problem.

My friend said they used to last 10 years, but cheaper parts that are coming in can last half that. In fact I bought a extra one just to keep on hand.

My chillers have been running and my electric bill is going to **** me off for sure.

Yeah they can be obvious or it can be an internal failure. Mine was rated at 7.5 but only showing 2.9. Motor ran too long on a weak cap and it ended up being dead too. Picked one it all up this morning and installed. Much better..

So, is it like a flux capacitor? Do you need to go 88 mph and generate 1.21 gigawatts of power?

:D
