are there any success stories out there of a few years or so?

I have one in a tank that is a little over a year. Grown about 20% in that time and is letting a clown host it without receding and dying. Can`t recommend them though- client bought and I have to keep it alive. Also have a branching style of gonipora in a tank that lost all but one head, and that head has been alive for several years. Limited skel growth on that one- but its expasion seems to get bigger and thicker with time. Also a clients tank- and I wouldn`t recommend them. I quit retailing them long ago.

I'm keeping an Alveopora now but it hasn't been long term however I had a Goniopora Stokesi for around 5 years on my last setup.It even release goniophytes(babies) several times a month.Both are still considered difficult,with a better understanding of there needs today,things are getting better.
