Looking for LED choices??

The new tank I got at the swap is amazing. So, I am starting my search with the most difficult thing- The light! I do want LED because I love LED!

The tanks dimensions are:
16 L
14 W
12 Deep

about 12 gallons. I have about a 1 3/4 in brace around the top.

I really liked AI nano idea I saw a lot of. But I wasn't too impressed with the $250 price tag.

Other choice I was thinking was maybe a PAR 38 bulb. Maybe rapidled/exo.

My idea for this tank is SPS.

You can get some good buys on par 38 bulbs on ebay and alibaba in china. I have purchased many things from them with no problems. You would only need one bulb. They have up to 54 watt which I purchased and they work great.

Do you have specific buyers/links? for either of those. I have seen both options and I ordered another par38 bulb ( 36w ) from ebay and testing it out now on another tank.

If the AI nano price is prohibitive, you're options will be limited. What are your requirements? I would look into some PAR bulbs or a DIY, but even then, DIY can add up really quickly. I spent close to $300 on my DIY for my biocube. You can definitely do it for cheaper, but the plug and play aspect of a Sol or a China fixture should not be understated.

If it was me, I'd try and find a gutted sunpod or small MH fixture, and retrofit a DIY. Will look clean, and you can do whatever you want.
