Looking for- Manual focus - point and shoot

Take a look at the Panasonic DMC-FZ30. Read the review and you'll come to a part where they compare the camera to a competitive model of another manufacturer-- take a look at that one too (Konica Minolta A200). Then look at the camera/s that the A200 is compared to... by the time you're done you'll have looked at several models that do indeed have usable manual focus lenses. Some better than others for sure. The FZ30 looks to be pretty nice.
Bottom line though- try to get to a camera store to play with these cameras before you buy- first hand experience is always best.

While the FZ30 looks like a very nice camera, I really dont know why anyone would spend $500+ on a point and shoot camera. (or at least one that is as big as a DSLR.)

If size isnt a concern, and manual focus IS, you best bet in that price range would be to pick up a Nikon D50 w/ 18-55mm DX Kit. You can throw it on fully auto and get great pictures just like it were a P&S, or you can put it on fully manual and have the best of both worlds - all for just about the same amount of money.

Thanks for the advise. Size is a concern. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I thought a 'point and shoot' camera was light and the type you can carry around while on vacation.
I wanted the manual focus to help when I take pics of my tank.

Pretty much any camera will probably do for you. Like Gregr said go to a camera store, and play with some there. My Canon I think I paid $180 for, and I couldn't be happier.
