looking to make waves on a budget

I like to move my magnet scraper back and forth really quickly to make waves... It has the added bonus of cleaning algae at the same time.

I've become a big fan of my Vortech. On a tank as big as yours two would probably work best, but I wouldn't be surprised if you got a wave going with just one.

How do you put a MJ on a sea-swirl? Aren't they two completely different things?

You can mod a Seaswirl to move any powerhead around.

koralias - if you will leave the powerheads on all the time (or a nignt/day schedule)

modded maxjets if you plan on an oscillating timer

The 900s work well for a 6' 125g tank. I tried 1200s and kept blowing sand around. The 180 may be large wnough to get full use from the 1200s.

Even the 900s can have some startup noise. All depends on the fit of the mod. I have 2 that are pretty much silent, and one that has a bit of buzz.
