im changing from a 60 cube to a 90 cube:D . i am trying not to run halides. will lps be alright with 300w of vho or should i use my halide?

I think you find that most of the die-hard LPS keepers, prefer VHO lighting. Gives the best color and good growth with out any heat associated problems like halides. I am running 300w VHO on my 37 Oceanic cube(ish) tank. 24" x 4 bulb. 2 URI SuperActinicR and 2 URI 50/50 atinic white. Probably the most common bulb config for LPS. I am really happy with the results. Great color with URI bulbs, and happy, growing LPS. My frogspawn, hammer and torch are doing well under VHO......as well as leathers, GSP, zoo's and shrooms. I am not into SPS. I think VHO's are the best bang for the buck. I would highly recommend hellolights if you are looking to purchase a new system. Great prices and cust service.

i already have a 400w halide system and a300w vho system. i was wondering should i run both? halide only ?vho only? and is 300w vho enough for my lps in a 24" deep tank?

I would go with both but acclimate your corals slowly to any increase or change in lighting. I have a 100 gallon with 500w of MH and 440w of VHO and my LPS love it.

I'd used the halide and maybe not even used the VHO's. I'd maybe use a bluer bulb but I think a 400 halide would be enough. I had a 400 halide over my 92 corner tank and it worked out great, I use a 15K XM all by itself and I liked the color and intensity for that size tank, just ramp up your light slowly if you switch over.
