What does it mean when your life rock turns a very bright white. I guess like bleaching.... Is that what it is doing?

should i be worried? what should i do about it?

usually happens in new tanks, it's just a die off of coraline algaes that are/were on the rocks. Nothing to worry about as they'll likely be back.

depending on your lights and calcium levels your rock should start showing some purple within the next month or so... not sure how long your tank has been up but each time I've started a new tank its ussually taken about 6 to 8 weeks to start noticing good coralline growth.

I already have some and its been 4 weeks.... but the bright parts are getting bigger and bigger...

I have 265 watt power compact 10k and actinic lights, its a double strip so 2 of each kind.

Watch your temperature: don't let it go quite to 85 (I'm running 79) and don't trust the heater temperature gauge to be at all correct. Always keep two thermometers of different sort: digital and strip is what I use. That way I can crosscheck. Temperature malfunctions are common and very hard on a tank.

I agree except Id highly recommend not letting your tank go past 82 degrees. 79 degrees is the sweet spot IMO.

My live rock bleached like that when I first started, then I tested for alk and found it to be way low. Once restored, the coraline came back fairly quickly. How are your alk and ca levels?
