You mean to treat a coral outside the tank to kill bacteria, or as an iodine additive to the tank?
IMO, the former may be useful, but iodine additions to an aquarium are of little benefit, IMO, unless you keep certain gorgonia which have a clear need for iodine. I do not generally recommend that most folks bother dosing it. I do not.
OK, that's covered in the article. Lugols wouldn't be my choice for that. While I do not dose iodine, if I did it wouldn't be Lugols because that form is unnatural and reactive.
