I got a bunch of this from a friend. Not sure what it is.

that's an easy one - Chaetomorphia (probably linum).
the common name is spaghetti algae.
good for nutrient export and doesn't go sexual as some cauerpa

FWIW, the C. linum description (...stiff and curled or twisted, having the texture of coarse steel wool)

seems more like that than the C crassa description (...resemble bundles of green tangles monofilament fishing line)

maybe these two descriptions can help sort out those two very similar species.

I need to get some of that too.
