Macro ID

Sorry for the poor photo its the best I could do without a MACRO lens. (drum roll please)

Can anyone ID it for me please? It has a very rubbery feel to it almost as if filled with gelatin. It is not laterally flattened but round. It is growing from the base of a red Trachyphyllia open brain coral.

In the water it looks just like the Scinaia sp. shown in this thread.

See the post about getting some of this attached to an open brain coral. Perhaps some sort of commensal or parasitic relationship?

.....or they simply come from the same habitat and are both fairly common.....Nice to have a conversation with yourself sometimes. Hell you even learn something once in awhile.

Just so ya don't get lonely talking to yourself...

I have had this growing in successive tanks with and without open brains. Never grew near my brain.

Its a kinda cool algae and does not have strong attachment points on the rock to its easy to manage.
