Does anyone have a magnetic frag rack locally? With all the work on the tank in the last few weeks, I have a few pieces that need to get mounted and placed on another rack. Thanks

check out Frag-a-Rack jason makes the best rack i have seen and works great.

I already have one and they are nice. I guess I need more magnets for mine.

I am just hoping someone may have an extra locally. I would prefer another one to match the one I have. Thanks

JoJo's has the E-shopp racks on the top shelf in the saltwater drygoods, but if the racks dont work out you can put them in my tank :)

ever tried the ghetto frag rack...zip tie some eggcrate to a spare/bad magfloat....

LoL when I first read this post I thought about the 4 foot frag rack I just built.
Took black egg crate cut it to about 4 inches wide.
Took 1 1/2" strips of acrylic and made L shaped brackets 3 total.
Drilled holes in the back of each bracket to install suction cups.
then took black tie wraps 2 on each bracket to hold them on then stuck it to the tank and it's worked great for a month and a half.
Frag a racks are way to small IMHO at least for me that is
Some bad cell phone pic's...

Mark if this will work for you I can see about making another one let me know the size you need.

Thanks for the ghetto idea, but I am just looking for something that I can take out when I need to. Its not really a must have as most of the time when I break off corals, I just let them fall to the bottom. :(

Hey mark any time you have some wounded soldiers give me a call :D

Paul : Those are some really nice pics you took with your phone.

Hey Mark

Do you have any extra magnets now?

I have two frag-a-racks in my tank each with two extra magnets.

I think one extra magnet might be enough for a full rack of frags but if you put anything bigger on them they need two extra.

EDIT: I REALLY like these racks. Starting new frags near the bottom and sliding the rack up to aclimate them to the light is so easy.

Brian, I don't have the extra magnets but since the one I have is in the back corner, its balanced on a piece of rock. I counted last night; it has 22 pieces on it :eek1:

22, hmmm, that might be a bit much. I'd get two extra magnets. The downside of the extra magnets is that the farther they stick out from the glass the more likely you are to bump the magnet and dump the whole rack.

For me, the best thing about these racks is the ease moving them. It is also nice to move them to clean the glass with magnetic glass cleaner.

When they were full with mini-colonies like this...

and two extra magnets they fell a couple times.
