Magnets for powerheads: where to buy?

Figured you guys might know of a good website to buy magnets for my powerheads.
I am using the MJ mods. They come with an attachment that would be perfect to epoxy a magnet too.
My glass is 1/2 inch thick btw.

Any good magnet sites? :)

Regards

Tagging along to see how you would decide on what size magnet you would need for this application. I have the same scenario.

Aprosody, I have two of those brand new in the box.
Where I have my pumps in the tank, the Closed Loop plumbing runs right behind it on the outside, need something smaller.
Those are kinda neat, but VERY big and cumbersome and quite frankly they are not that strong when put on 1/2" acrylic.

I like those sure grip magnets but figured I could rig something up myself for pennies on the dollar :) I mean for that price I might as well upgrade :) LOL
I found an old RC thread about custom powerhead holders but I have managed to loose it.... I will try to find it

I wasn't necessarily suggesting them, I just stumbled on them in my new DFS catalog and thought they were neat. My K's already have magnets :D

Those are pretty cool too, I wish all the pics were there, well at least they didn't load for me anyway. They do look kind of bulky though sort of like the Suregrip ones.
I guess you are really not going to be able to get away from the bulkiness though, are we?

Thanks

They are a little bulky. The magnets I used were 3/8" thick x 1" diameter.

With the 1/8" (1/16" can be used ) acrylic on both sides of the piece, it is 5/8" thick.
Back a few years ago when I made these for my seio 1500's, there was nothing on the market that was being made except for the Tunze magnet mounts.
The 3/8"x1" neodymium magnets were plenty strong enough to hold a seio 1500 through 1/2" glass.
I used www.magnet4less.com and www.magnet4sale.com to find the ones I wanted.

You can make something smaller that would work, but not thinner, IMO.

I did this on a tank with 3/8" thick glass.
I found these ceramic magnets at a local store. But with ceramic magnets, you don't need the plastic around them.
Just super glue a couple of the ceramic magnets on the inside piece and use a stronger neodyium magnet on the ouside.
