hey guys i just joined reef central and im loving it.

and now heres my situation

I am determined to purchase a majestic angel for my 90 gallon reef tank. what precautions should i take. What are youre opinions on the combination of this fish and a reef. What past experiences have you had with fish, good or bad. Besides the threat of coral nipping there are issues.

thanks guys

Sounds like your determined to do it...So here is my take on your subject...I have a 10 year old Majestic in a reef with mostly leathers, shrooms, 1 large clam, Bubble coral...The Majestic does nip at things. May eat some zoas now and again. Has never killed any corals. I got this fish before I started a reef and had only fowlr. On the other hand I have known people to put a Majestic in there reef and it has totally destroyed there corals, other fish and became an unwanted fish. Yes they are beutiful but I do believe they are hit or miss...But since your determined to do it, Good Luck and keep us postedon your outcome. By the way I am asssuming that your tank is fully matured and ready for such a prized fish...

thanks man. my reef is 3 years old and i have leathers, shrooms, 1 goniopora, 1 bubble coral and one clam. almost identical eh?
any ways now the only thing thats standing in my way is the LFS not having them that often and convincing my financiere (my dad) that this fish is worth the risk and the high price.
