Making silicone dry faster

I took apart my closed loop system this past weekend to do the yearly pump (Dart) cleaning.. well, i decided to use GE Silicone II instead of teflon tape for the threads since that's what MDM recommends.. it was applied on Sat night.. i checked this morning before leaving the house and it was still wet to the touch! :(

it's been rainy around here since last week, and will probably rain for most of this week.. anyone know an effective way to speed up the drying/curing time of silicone??

a light amount of air movement might help .

a light breeze over it ... or close up the room and get a dehumidifier

you dont have to wait for it to dry all th way , I use it on all threaded connnections and never wait more than a minut or to be for running water through it . This type of silicon cures by the mosture in the air .

huh?? are you saying it's ok to turn the Dart on if the silicone is still wet?? i.e. there's no "skin" that has formed yet.

I do it all the whe time , with much larger pump snad more pressure .
Dont worry about it and turn it on .
