Mantis color change

Is it typical for mantis to drastically change color after a molt? My G. smithii just molted, going in he was a dark forest green and coming out he is kind of a sunset orange. What would be the cause of such a change? Environmental? Diet? Has anyone else experienced this?

correct me if im wrong dr roy but i think the type of lights you run on the 0tank affec0ts the color change. i have one who went from black to the dark forest green color

It also is affected by the other stuff in the tank. A lot of mantises change color to blend in more. So if you have a lot of Macros in your tank they will probabley turn more green. I'd love to see picks of your G. smithii! Oddball I thought you didn't have a mantis thats why you are begging everyone for one?
