mantis eating pods,starfish?

I have a 30 gall sump and a 1 1/2 inch mantis in my tank. im going to catch it when i move the tank in a few weeks and put it in my sump. it has mostly macro algea and a bit of live rock. my question is i have a lot of pods, small starfish and bristle worms in my sump and was wondering if it will eat those or not? i really dont want to kill my whole pod population but at the same time i dont want to flush the mantis either.. any ideas are appreciated.

They don't usually like bristle worms or starfish, but will take amphipods. It is highly unlikely that one animal could clean them out.
