I have a Mantis in my tank that is darkblue to black with clear blue dots. Is there someone who can tell me what species it might be and how large it will grow?

Color doesn't mean much in IDing a mantis. Checking out Roy's list or posting a good picture would be your best bet.

Clear blue dots? Do you mean the meral spots between the raptorial appendages. Then it is a Gonodactylus smithii.

Try to make some pics from this mantis and post it here.

ide suggest taking a real good look at it too...
i thaught the one i had was black/purple at the LFS

Female Haptosquilla glyptocercus often are black with clear white or bluish spots over the body. I have also seen P. ciliata that were black with clear bluish spots. However, without a photo I'm just guessing. How big is the animal and is it a smasher or spearer?
