Mantis Offspring??

Hi All,

I have removed 4 Mantis shrimp from my Fiji live rock since I've gotten it (80 lbs.) 3 months ago. The last one last night.
Tonight I was cleaning the tank and noticed a nest of what looks like little baby shrimp. Although they do not look like the green Mantis I've removed (they are light gray in color), I'm worried that I now have a Mantis breeding tank.
My question, has anybody had any Mantis reproduce in their tank? If so, and you did not want them, how in the h*ll can you get them all out? Thanks to all in advance.

Gonodactylids frequently breed in tanks and successfully hatch their eggs. The larvae will stay with the mother for another week and then they will enter the plankton. At this point, they are strongly photopositive and you can attract them to the side of the aquarium using a flashlight in the darkened room.

This is where things come to a halt. I know of NO case where stomatopods have survived the planktonic phase in a typical aquarium. They would need to survive and grow for at least a month while swimming in the water column and that is not going to happen. Consider any larvae that make it out mom's door food for the system.
