Hello,
nice video, but the animal is to fast.
ItÃ"šÃ‚´s nearly impossible to record the strike with a normal DV camera.
I hope i get my high speed camera soon.

Anybody knows where i can watch some high speed shots from a mantis shrimp?

Check out the Home reef videos on the reef discussion forum. There is one at the bottom from UCLA Berkley i believe that shows a mantis in slow motion

Actually I am an HVAC Engineer, I work with really big air conditioning systems.

I may get another some time, not right now, I am a bit busy setting up my own A/c Biz.
The best part of the vid I think is the arching of the back, getting ready to fire. Then it seems he exhausted all his energy and kind of sank for a moment..
The full vid has 2 shots on the side but was like 10 megs, and the sound was just a little tap.
I couldnt believe how the sound changed with the slow motion. You can actually hear the travel under the water.
