Master Recirc Pumps. Anyone used one yet?

I get the first 115V models in a couple weeks, should be here right before Christmas.

1073.03 is available now, it has been out for a year, but it isn't the new fancy external ones. Those came out in Germany/ France a month ago, but the Swiss, US, British plug versions are just now coming out.

As I suspected....that pump is not showing up any time soon. I really want one to compare to the Red Dragon. The electrical numbers assuming accuracy, are close. The RD12, draws around 160 on US current and probably pushes more like 14000L. Your pump pushes 15000L and draws 230 on paper.

I don't know James, I think it would be a risk, it doesn't have brake shoes but most pumps don't hold up well to wavemakers and it is one thing with a $30 maxi jet but frying a $100 pump would hurt.

Chuck, you have first dibs.

This is true, I might go with an oceansmotions squirt instead as they are only $130.

Are they needle wheel pumps? I am looking to replace my return pump to one of these.

Any word on noise? How loud/quiet are they going to be?

These pumps are going to be ginormous.:D Are they going to feature a seperate transformer like the Streams?

No seperate transformer, they use 110V, the driver is built into the side and while waterproof they are aluminum so unsuitable for saltwater. I don't know about the noise level, haven't seen one running yet.

A needle wheel pump couldn't be used for a return they have no pressure?

Thats why i asked. They look like they could fit a needlewheel in there.

No, the impeller is sort of narrow, like an open turbine. I don't see anyway a needlewheel could be used.

Sorry for the mis understanding. All i was referring to is the looks of it. It looks similar to the style of a needlewheele pum not that it can. I have not seen one in person all i was going off was the looks of the front. Which i was mistaken.;)
