material to glue rock to?

alright this question actually belongs in the FO forum but i figured id ask it here since this section gets the most responses lol. im in the process of converting my 75 reef to an old school style FO tank. i am purchasing two large fake rock sculptures (sp?) and was originally planning to just glue them to the bottom of the tank with silicone (because i hate when stuff moves around when your cleaning and whatnot). anyways i realized that about 1.5 inches of the rock will be hidden by the sand, and i don't want that. so, i decided to use 1/2 staboard under the rock and then glue it then glue that to the tank bottom. only problem is that 1/2 starboard is a fortune and im a poor teenager, so i was trying to think of a cheaper alternative since it doesn't matter what it looks like since its covered by sand. i thought about eggcrate, but its too porous and probably won't glue to the rock very well. 1/2 acrylic is probably a fortune as well, so that's out of the question.

anyone got any ideas?

I do not have any ideas but once you figure out a way to glue the sculpture down to the tank, it will be there permanently. And it will stay in that position or will be difficult to remove if you ever decide to place the sculpture in a different area of the tank.

Just a thought. Good luck.
