I am thinking of adding a 2.5" or 3" maxima to my 15gal nano-reef. The lighting is a PFO pendant with 175w 10k XM MH and 2 32w PC actinics. How long will it take the clam to outgrow this tank?
Long. T.Maxima is the second slowest growing clam in the hobby... I beleive.... Or is it the first??
Not sure, but it would definetly take YEARS, YEARS, to outgrow the tank... I'm guessing... 10-15 years.. maybe even more.. I wouldn't worry about it.. It would be more likely to die from disease, or unknown causes....
Goodluck! Go with the 3 inch clam, anything lower depends heavily on planktonic food, meaning alot of DT feeding.. Anything bigger than 3 inches begins to rely on ligthing....
