Maximas with worms

Hey can clams get worms??? I bought a maxima for ORA and it has a thin, sting like object thats comes out but retracts back into the clam when I go near it.

is it on the bottom of the clam, on one side. sounds either like the foot of the clam, or the filament it uses to attach to rocks etc, in both cases it is a good thing-guru

It appears to be coming from its mouth area not the bottom. It looks like its green and looks like a pieces of thread coming out but it goes in and out of the clam

That sounds funky. Can you get a pic of it? That's how clams expell waste but I have yet to see any come out GREEN. What I've seen has always been white to brown in color.
