Thanks Mark. Ya that one is doing ok, has been a REALLY challenging coral.....I have two others if similar fine branching form that are much less sensative.

Very nice Dave. I see the grape jelly and a couple other new pieces I really like :D

Agreed - would love to see some updates from past SPS dominated TOTM's. Not sure about the expertise however!

Unreal! I wish other TOTM's would post similar threads. I can only imagine how much work goes into it in the first place. But to have similar results 2 years later is a testament to your expertise. Very jealous. And that pink acro that sonnus highlighted needs an id please. It needs to be on my "must get" list...

Thanks Brian. Flow: 2000GPM from the return into two - 1" sea swirls, Dart closed loop on an OM 4-way, 3 Tunze 6100's on a multicontroller (one in deco rock going across the back of the tank, one at eather end going diagonally across the tank).

Looking good as usual!

What are you using for flow besides the CL?

Thanks. Have never tested for potassium. Test Ca, DKH and Mg only.

Do you test for potassium ,have this question may have already been ask. You colors is perfect.

Hey Tony. Ya it's been a while, hope is all is well. Tank has grown out some since you were here. Should you find yourself in Toronto again just let me know, your more than welcome to come by, I'm always around. Not sure about the admission though..........

Dave, absolutely stunning! I was very impressed when I saw it 3 years ago, and it has really grown in nicely. I wish I had some better adjectives to use to more accurately describe it.

I really wish I still came to Canada for work on a regular basis. Heck I'd pay you admission just to come over and drool for a little while:D

Great job, my friend!

Yes - I never thought of that! A second TOTM.............hmmmm.

Sad thing kinda I find now is that the tank is full............we had some really nice indo SPS come in this weekend but as illustrated, where would I put them???

Dave, the tank is looking sweet as always. You just might make tank of the month again. :D

Dave,

By far the nicest collection of corals I have seen north of the border.

If you ever sell frag packs I would be first in line!

I can't imagine the amount of Calcium that tank must consume! Very nice.
How long has it taken you to collect that amount of SPS?

Have been collecting SPS since 2003, but honestly we have a lot of nice SPS come through Toronto. Australia has provided some nice additions over the past 2 years. I think I have collected a few pretty unique pieces over the years, most which I still have...I have not gotten the camera on some of the nicest ones.

As many colonies are pretty large and the tank is full, so my calcium reactor runs at 2 co2 bubbles/second with a full stream of effluent...I also dose calcium to help out. Tried dripping Kalk previously but my DKH got to high.

Your system is an absolute STUNNER!

Brilliant!

The last week or so I agree - the good thing about the Canadian winters is that it has you spend a lot of time in front of your tank and it is looking good by the end of the winter....bad thing is you don't want to spend so much time indoors in the spring and summer. 40-50 hour work week, new mustang, yard work and a wife.........ya I don't spend much time in the basement in the spring and summer. If I end up doing my masters degree in the fall.......man I better get back at it :)

:D :D :D

400W 20K radiums with VHO actinics make these corals pop. Sure the coral growth is not as fast with a 10K bulb, but the coral color is outstanding. And with my ballasts and lumanarc reflectors the tank seems really bright, not that blue. First time a saw a tank with 20K halides I changed out my 10K's a week later (around 2004 - thanks Dayne). Have one 20XM, but prefer the radiums. As corals grow out I do sell and trade frags from my system with fellow Canadian reef keepers not lot local enough to come by, and ya, some of them are pretty wicked.

Do you find yourself trimming to prevent them from touching, letting nature takes its course or some of both???

Unreal, just unreal.

So what kind of lighting do you use radium or xm 20k. I looked at the may 2007 totm and saw that used xm 20k, and i now i just saw a post that you use Radium. Basically what bulb do you use when you took those pictures recently, because those are awesome pictures.
