MB7/New Tank Question

First off, I wasn't sure exactly where to put this question, but figured here since more and more SPS users have been using MB7.

I started my tank last week. I have been doesing 5 capfuls(approx. 150G) daily, and was planning on continuing that until next Saturday, then decreasing to a maintenance level. Does this sound about right? I was planning on using this to seed my tank with bacteria since I used 95% dry rock and all dry sand, with a little live rock rubble.

I am just running this by some people who have run MB7 before and anything I can be looking for?

Tagging along. I just changed all my rocks to base rock and wondering if I should do the same...

I'm pretty sure I don't have to does Reef BioFuel/Vodka now and from my understanding this is only used to lower N/P when they elevate. Since this is a brand new set up, figuring I shouldn't add any Carbon Source yet. Assuming I contue to add the MB7, will I eventually have to add a carbon source into the mix. Maybe someone can help explain this a little better to me.

yeah, your on the right track.. I would say dose the High Nutrient dosing schedule for the first 2 weeks then switch to low nutrient dosing schedule which is 1 drop per 50g after that.. get some good test kits for NO3 and PO4 before you go crazy with the vodka. HTH.

DML, so it would be beneficial if I was to continue to dose only MB7. Then, maybe add vodka down the road? Any advantage to starting it now or would it be a waste considering I don't have anything in the tank?
