Metal halide ????

Hello everyone I have been reading all the lighting post on here about the intensity of the bulbs.Well my question is i have a 4 or 5 inch crocea clam in my 75 about 8 inchs from the top of the tank with dual 175 watt metal halides. Well in a few days im going to be setting up a 90ga bow tank with dual 150 hqis and two 32 watt power comapacts on it. So my question is is this enough light for the crocea and where should he be placed in the tank as far a heighth level. Any info on this would be great.
thanks daniel

If you could, I would try to up the lighting to 250 watters. Of course each clam is different and reacts differently to the amount of light they recieve. I say give it a shot anyhow and let us know how it goes. JMO

If you can go with 250s but if you already have the 150 just try to get the crocea as close to the top and under the MH as possible and you will be fine. You are only looking at a difference of 25 watts vs. your current setup and from what I have heard the HQIs are great.

Daniel, like I told you I kept my crocea under those light for 3 months and he looks awesome! Keep the clam at least half way up in the water column. Dean. p.s I tracked your lights and they are scheduled for delivery on monday. :D
